Density of Smoke from the Burning or Decomposition of Plastics ASTM D2843
ASTM D2843 Duman Yoğunluğu Testinin, kontrollü yanma veya ayrışma koşulları altında plastiklerin duman üretme özelliklerini ölçmek için kullanılması amaçlanmıştır. Ölçümler, kontrollü, standartlaştırılmış koşullar altında üretilen toplanmış bir duman hacminden ışık iletiminin kaybı açısından yapılır. Cihaz, test sırasında alev ve dumanın gözlenebileceği şekilde imal edilmiştir. Bu test, belirtilen koşullar altında basit, doğrudan ve anlamlı bir şekilde üretilen duman gizliliği miktarının ölçülmesini sağlar. Yanıcı maddeler tarafından üretilen dumanın görme engelini belirleme derecesi, büyüklük ve malzeme, nem, cereyan, sıcaklık ve oksijen kaynağı şeklindeki değişikliklerden etkilenebilir. Bir malzeme üzerinde yapılan bu testler, plastiklerin göreceli duman engelleme özelliklerinin karşılaştırılmasında önemli bir değer olabilir.
