Radyan ısı eğimli bir elektrik paneli vasıtasıyla uygulanır ve yatay olarak monte edilm bir numuneye yönlendirilir. Elektrik paneli ve pilot brülör bir test odasına yerleştirilmtir. Odanın yanları, uçları ve üst kısımları elyaflı seramik bir yalıtım ile izole edilmtir.  Ön taraf, yüksek sıcaklıkta, çekimsiz bir gözlem penceresine sahiptir.
